The Differences Between NURU and B2B Massage

When new clients initially approach me to book a sensual massage session, one of the most frequently asked questions I get is:

“What’s the difference between NURU and B2B (body-to-body) massage?”

Allow me to offer some perspective from a FBSM pro who used to offer NURU, why I now offer B2B instead, and why clients who have tried both ultimately preferred B2B.

B2B differs from NURU in a few key aspects:

While NURU requires the client to lay down on a special floor mat, B2B is is performed with the client on a massage table or bed. No need to get up, or change positions...the client can simply relax and enjoy the sensation of my body sliding across their pressure points. (That NURU mat on a hard floor can get pretty uncomfortable for a client after only a few minutes, let alone 60 or 90 minutes!)

NURU is performed using a seaweed gel (which I'm not a fan of; the NURU gel creates a sticky mess on the skin and takes three showers to get out of your hair! If you have body hair, four or five showers, lol). Clients often told me they hated the NURU gel because it stuck to their body hair like glue.

By contrast, B2B incorporates organic coconut oil for all the slippery body slide fun, while being kind to the skin, and washes or towels off easily after the massage.

I perform B2B in a bikini swimsuit using warm organic coconut oil, using every part of my body to massage every part of the client’s body. I often employ my arms, feet, buttocks, and chest to massage key pressure points. The sensation can only be described as “a little bit of heaven.”

My clients tell me they greatly prefer B2B over NURU for these reasons.

I no longer offer traditional Japanese NURU massage, but if you’re interested in trying the B2B treatment, it’s included in “The Works” massage package, or can be added to any massage therapy treatment for an extra fee. (B2B typically takes about 30 minutes of the overall session time.)
